Four Heavenly Kings

The Four Heavenly Kings, are the remarkable beings that protect the four corners of the world. In Chinese Buddhism, they are popularly known as the Great Dharma Protectors, seen in the shrines of the Matrieya Buddha. The Four Heavenly kings has the power to control the weather and climate on Earth. They each carry a distinctive magical weapon that represents the source of their supernatural powers.Two of the Heavenly Kings have friendly faces and fair colored complexion. The other to shows a more ferocious and darker appearance. This represents that the GOODNESS in this world must be taught and implemented both through gentle and authoritative means.

Introducing the Four Heavenly Kings

Heavenly King of the North is Mo Li Shou. He has a fierce and dark looking appearance. Resting around his shoulders and arms is a magic dragon with no claws. His has the ability to call upon swiftness of the wind and tides, control the climateand master the forces of the seasons.

Heavenly King of the South is Mo Li Hung. He is seen holding an umbrella, where at elevation darkness envelopes the earth and the violent storn of thunder commences. When the magical umbrella is reversed, it can call upon earthquakes and tidal waves that can completely demolish all evil. His place is in the South.

Heavenly King of the East is Mo Li Chung.He governs the Eastern part of the Earth with his magical black sword that is described as having the power to cut through all evil andpierce through the bodies of evil demons instantly disintegrating their flesh.

Heavenly King of the West is Mo Li Hai. He carries with him a magical mandolin somewhat like a four string guitar called the *Pi-Pa*. This magical instrument is described as having the power to conjure a rain of fire and a wave of flames to destroy those who have done evil to others.

The Four Heavenly Kings may be placed at the entrance of your home for protection from evil. Or they may be placed respectively in the North, South, East and West of your officeor study room for personal protection.

 


Fuk Lok Sau (Large)

This representation of the Three Stars is much larger and is even more finely detailed. Fuk, carrying the child can be seen dressed as a merchant. Luk in his garb as a government official is holding his sceptre of office and power. Sau is once again found here carrying his staff and the peach of longevity. There is however, a gourd on Sau's staff. The gourd is a powerful symbol of immortality.The three are made of Shao Shan stone and a rich rosewoodcolor.

The large statues are suitable for the dining room, living room or main hall to ensure that it is in the main gathering places of the family. They will help bring about the three things that they symbolize: blessings and happiness, wealth and prosperity and finally long life. In business, the Three Stars are placed in the reception or office to symbolize a business that is both prosperous and long lasting.


Fuk Lok Sau (Small)

Fuk, Luk and Sau, the Three Stars, are the symbols of the three basic desires of the people: Happiness, Prosperity and Longevity.

Fuk is seen here carrying a child signifying the future, joy and abundance that a child brings to the world. Luk is carrying gold in his hand, bringing about wealth, affluence and prosperity. Sau has his staff in one hand and the peach of longevity in the other. Always standing together, Fuk is always at the center, flanked with Luk to the left and Sau on the right.

The three are made of Shao Shan stone and a rich rosewood color.

Fuk, Luk and Sau are placed in the main gathering places of the family. The are believed to help bring about what they represent. These smaller images are very convenient. Because of their size, they can be placed just about anywhere within the living room, dining room or hallway. Businesses can place them in the main reception or office.
